A sealing device of a suction type placing table capable of smoothly carrying in and carrying out sheet materials and well maintaining cutting accuracy even if a change in the height of the sheet materials in a stacked state is large by sucking. In the configuration of Figure 1C, if a distance Hc is sufficiently secured to facilitate the carrying-in and carrying-out of the materials (25) to be cut as in a case where sheet materials with high compressibility are cut, a distance Dc is increased and the cut accuracy is lowered.
