Benefits of technology

The liveARM is a portable exercise device that helps develop the shoulder muscles. It allows the user to rotate the bar in a circular motion by grasping the handles and moving them freely around the bar. The resistance system within the handles helps create a torque and frictional force to resist the movement of the user. This makes it difficult for the user to twist the handle and create the circular motion. The handle is a simple hollow cylinder that encases the bar and resistance system. The technical effect of this invention is to help develop the shoulder muscles by providing a challenging exercise that can be easily performed anywhere.

Problems solved by technology

The left part of the grip will move closer to the bar while the right side maintains its positions and eventually the grip will provide a strong enough compressive force on the bar making it difficult for the user to twist the handle and thus the bar in circular motions.

Embodiment Construction

[0012]The liveARM product is an exercising device meant to improve the rotator cuff muscles. It is comprised of a single bent bar and two handles that have a gripping mechanism to fasten around the bar. This bar will be unattached to anything and the handles will be removable as well as all of it will be portable.

[0013]The bar(4) is a steel bar that is a total height of 31 centimeters with a 0.5 centimeter radius. The bar will extend downward for 13 centimeters where it will bend 90 degrees to the right, and stretch 13 centimeters horizontally before bending 90 degrees back to the left and extend for another 13 centimeters vertically downwards. These bends have a radius of 2.5 centimeters. The bar has four smaller bars(5) extending perpendicular from it. The bars are 2.2 centimeters long with a radius of 0.25 centimeters. Two of the smaller bars are positioned with their centers 9.8 centimeters away from the top of the bar. These bars thee in opposite directions and are parallel to ...

Abstract

liveARM is a portable exercising device that is used to strengthen or develop the shoulder muscles. It is used through causing a her to move centripetally and having handles that are able to tighten around the bar. As the handles become tighter it becomes increasingly difficult for the bar to be rotated straining the muscles and exercising them. The exercising device can have the handles removed in order to not damage the resistance system and also allow for ease of storage. liveARM also gives the user the capability of wielding the device at any desired angle in order to engage the shoulder muscles in a variety of ways.

Description

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS[0001]Not ApplicableSTATEMENT REGARDING FEDERALLY SPONSORED RESEARCH OR DEVELOPMENT[0002]Not ApplicableREFERENCE TO A SEQUENCE LISTING, A TABLE, OR A COMPUTER PROGRAM LISTING COMPACT DISC APPENDIX[0003]Not ApplicableBACKGROUND OF INVENTION[0004]liveARM is a device pertaining to the exercising devices field of art. This device will be used to help in the exercising or developing of the shoulder muscles, specifically the rotator cuff muscles. liveARM is a device that allows the client to perform continuous eccentric and concentric internal and external rotation exercise to develop strength and stability during different speeds of rotational arm motions while remaining portable. Due to the portability of the device, it can be angled and arranged in different directions to attack specific muscle groups (i.e., rotator cuff, serratus anterior, deltoid. ect.), this device also thus allows for continuous exercise even outside normal facilities such as ...
