Washing machine having ball balancers

Disclosed is a washing machine having ball balancers, which adjust a relation between a gap, between the inner wall of a racer of each of the ball balancers and balls, and viscous oil, so as to reduce the vibration and noise of the washing machine. Each of the ball balancers of the washing machine includes balls and viscous oil accommodated in a racer, and the viscosity of the viscous oil is varied in proportion to a gap between the racer and the balls. When the viscosity of the viscous oil is 1˜100 cSt, the gap is set to 0.5˜1.0 mm, when the viscosity of the viscous oil is 100˜380 cSt, the gap is set to 1.0˜2.0 mm, and when the viscosity of the viscous oil is 380˜1,000 cSt, the gap is set to 2.0˜3.0 mm. Thereby, the relation between the gap and the viscous oil is optimized, and the ball balancers effectively exhibit a balancing function and thus minimize the vibration and noise of the washing machine.

Removable gas/liquid separator for a motor

A motor-driven blower, particularly suited for carpet cleaners and other wet vacuuming appliances, includes a rotating separator cup to impede water droplets and foam from being drawn into the blower. The separator cup is removably connected to a spider bracket that is mounted more permanently to one end of the motor shaft. Since the separator cup is not directly connected to the motor shaft, the cup can be removed without disturbing the rest of the blower. Thus, the blower can be run either with or without the separator cup. Moreover, by not attaching the separator cup directly to the motor shaft, the shaft can be made shorter to minimize vibration and noise at high rpm's.

Anti-Rattle Tongue Plate and Method of Forming Same

An anti-rattle tongue plate is provided that includes two different materials for being operably connected to the body of the tongue plate. One of the materials is softer than the other to minimize noise when the tongue plate engages against interior components of the vehicle such as during rough ride conditions. One of the materials is made into a distinct component for being operably connected to the tongue plate body. In this manner, the tongue plate herein eliminates at least one of the insert molds needed for prior over molded latch plates, thus providing manufacturing and cost efficiencies thereover.

Multi-threshold complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (MTCMOS) bus circuit and method for reducing bus power consumption via pulsed standby switching

A multi-threshold complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (MTCMO) bus circuit reduces bus power consumption via a reduced circuit leakage standby and pulsed control of standby mode so that the advantages of MTCMOS repeater design are realized in dynamic operation. A pulse generator pulses the high-threshold voltage power supply rail standby switching devices in response to changes detected at the bus circuit inputs. The delay penalty associated with leaving the standby mode is overcome by reducing cross-talk induced delay via a cross-talk noise minimization encoding and decoding scheme. A subgroup of bus wires is encoded and decoded, simplifying the encoding, decoding and change detection logic and results in the bus subgroup being taken out of standby mode only when changes occur in one or more of the subgroup inputs, further reducing the power consumption of the overall bus circuit.

Grommet

A grommet providing triple sealing feature when mounted in an opening of a panel is disclosed. When the panel into which the grommet is mounted is between a compartment exposed to ambient conditions and a passenger compartment, a seal minimizes water, fumes, dust, and noise from entering into the passenger compartment. The triple seal, according to an embodiment, provides higher sealing forces than shown previously. The disclosed grommet can be engaged with a flat, non-flanged panel as well as a panel having a flange near the opening. The disclosed grommet has multiple longitudinal slits sawed through a tubular portion of the grommet through which the wiring harness is threaded. The cuts allow a subset of wires to be splayed out from the grommet at a different routing than the remainder of the wires in the wiring harness bundle.

Hooded microwave oven

The present invention relates to a microwave oven, and more particularly, to a structure of a microwave oven that has more enhanced operating efficiency and makes less noise by independently forming a flow of air for a hood function and a flow of air for cooling an electric equipment installation chamber and by mounting an exhaust filter only on one side of an air duct. The present invention utilizes a ventilation motor assembly 132 for forming the flow of air for the hood function and the flow of air for cooling the electric equipment installation chamber. In addition, the flow of air discharged from the ventilation motor assembly 132 is forced to flow toward the air duct 122 which has passages divided into a first duct portion 202 and a second duct portion 204. Moreover, among the duct portions 202, 204, an exhaust filter 122' is installed only on the duct portion through which the flow of air for the hood function passes. Furthermore, the electric equipment installation chamber is formed at the relatively upper side of the cavity is 102 so that electric equipments 104' are installed in a position adjacent to the ventilation motor assembly 132. According to the present invention having such structure, the air flows smoothly in the microwave oven, and noise due to the flow of air is minimized.

Vehicle brake system

In a brake-by-wire vehicle brake system that uses a solenoid shut-off valve (24a, 24b), the electric power supplied to the solenoid (33) of the solenoid shut-off valve is controlled so as to decelerate a movement of a plunger (31, 32) of the valve as the plunger reaches a point immediately adjacent to a terminal point thereof. Thereby, a highly responsive property can be achieved while the noises that are generated by the plunger striking a stopper (36) or a valve seat (34) can be minimized. When actuating the plunger in the valve closing direction, the solenoid may receive electric power at a first level, a second level lower than the first level and a third level intermediate between the first and second levels in that order.

Nail gun

Nail gun (1) comprises barrel (23) and loading mechanism (20) for loading nail from magazine (19) into muzzle (14). Nail (3) is adapted to be propelled by punch (16) via piston shuttle (7) movable by a gas propellant that is initially stored as a liquid in reservoir (2). The liquid is heated to a super critical state in high-pressure chamber (4) by heating element (5) to induce a phase change such that the liquid becomes a highly dense gas. The phase change from liquid to gas provides the energy required to expel nail (3) from muzzle (14), regardless of the ambient temperature. The propellant is preferably CO2 which is heated to 31.06° C. Pressure selector (9) allows for different pressure settings suitable for softwood, hardwood and masonry nailing applications. Gun (1) produces minimal noise and so reduces workplace noise pollution.
