7 results about "Occlusion effect" patented technology

The occlusion effect occurs when an object fills the outer portion of a person's ear canal, and that person perceives "hollow" or "booming" echo-like sounds of their own voice. It is caused by bone-conducted sound vibrations reverberating off the object filling the ear canal. When talking or chewing, these vibrations normally escape through an open ear canal; most people are unaware of their existence. When the ear canal is blocked, the vibrations are reflected back toward the eardrum. Compared to a completely open ear canal, the occlusion effect can boost low frequency (usually below 500 Hz) sound pressure in the ear canal by 20 dB or more. This effect can be measured with a probe-tube microphone.

Blood pressure monitoring via in-ear device

ActiveUS12642438B1Acoustic sensorsCatheterOcclusion effectBlood pressure monitors
An in-ear device (IED) of a wearable system captures audio data from within the ear canal of a user indicative of the user's heartbeat. The IED when worn occludes the user's ear canal, causing amplification of low frequency sounds due to the occlusion effect, and improving the ability of the acoustic sensor to detect the user's heartbeat sounds. The wearable system classifies the audio data to identify portions of the audio data corresponding to a first heart sound and a second heart sound, which correspond to different portions of the heartbeat of the user. The wearable system estimates a blood pressure level of the user based upon the identified heart sounds.

Hearing aid control method and system for eliminating ear blockage effect

PendingCN121568021AHearing aids signal processingOcclusion effectSpeech sound
A hearing aid control method for eliminating an ear blockage effect comprises the following steps: acquiring an audio decibel recorded by a first microphone as a first decibel; the decibel interval where the first decibel falls is judged, the access mode of the microphones is selected based on the decibel interval, and the first access mode is that the first microphone and the second microphone are both electrically connected with the audio access interface, and the valve of the air hole of the hearing aid is in a closed state; the second access mode is that the first microphone is connected with the hearing aid control chip; and when the second access mode is executed, the valve opening degree of the hearing aid air hole is controlled based on the first decibel, and whether the second microphone is electrically connected with the audio access interface is controlled. According to the invention, the automatic opening and closing of the air hole are realized, while the ear plugging effect and the ear canal damp-heat problem are alleviated, the sound quality is ensured and the howling is effectively inhibited through an acoustic management mechanism of software and hardware collaboration, so that the hearing aid can give consideration to both comfort and definition in different use scenes.

Anti-environment noise tooth gesture interaction action irrelevant identity authentication method

The invention discloses an anti-environmental noise tooth gesture interaction action irrelevant identity authentication method, and belongs to the field of Internet of Things and pervasive computing. An extraauricular microphone and an intraauricular microphone of the smart earphone sense an environmental noise signal and an audio signal in an ear canal, respectively. The related occlusion effect enables audio signals acquired in the ear to have frequency selection and individual difference characteristics. When the user executes the tooth gesture interaction action, the corresponding in-ear bone conduction audio signal has individual difference after being modulated by the face conduction path, and is not easily influenced by the interaction action. According to the method, the environmental noise interference is effectively eliminated by constructing the personalized mapping relation of the audio signals inside and outside the ear, and the confrontation learning network is utilized to extract conduction path tissue related biological characteristics from the captured tooth gesture in-ear bone conduction audio signals, so that the tooth gesture interaction action irrelevant identity authentication resisting the environmental noise interference is realized. The method has the advantages of fast authentication, effective resistance to environmental noise and robustness to inconsistent interaction actions of tooth gestures.

Method, apparatus, earphone and computer program for actively suppressing occlusion effect when reproducing an audio signal

ActiveCN115398934BOcclusion effect electronic compensationMicrophones signal combinationOcclusion effectNoise
In a method for actively suppressing occlusion effects when reproducing an audio signal with a headphone (10) or a hearing aid according to the present application, an external sound signal is picked up (20) with at least one external microphone (11) of the headphone or the hearing aid. A speech signal is picked up (21) with at least one additional microphone (12, 17). A dry component of the picked-up speech signal is estimated (22), wherein the dry component of the picked-up speech signal is a part of the picked-up speech signal without reverberation or ambient noise caused by the surrounding space. A speech component is extracted (23) from the external sound picked up with the at least one external microphone by a filter, wherein filter coefficients of the filter are determined (23) based on the estimated dry component of the picked-up speech signal, or the estimated dry component of the picked-up speech signal is filtered such that a speech component is generated (23) having a similar spatiality as the speech component at the external microphone. The extracted or generated speech component is output (24) by a loudspeaker of the headphone or the hearing aid.
