Vehicle ceiling-mounting electric equipment assembly

In a vehicle ceiling-mounting electric equipment assembly of the invention, an FPC (12) is welded by heat to a casing (11) of a lamp unit (2), and an FFC (16) for external connection is electrically connected to the FPC (12) by press-clamping or welding. Switches (13) and lamp socket holes (14a) are provided at the FPC (12). An end portion of the FPC (12) is folded to be inserted into a fitting portion (11a) of a recess-shape in which an optional member (26) can be mounted, and a circuit pattern is exposed to a side surface of the fitting portion (11a) to form a connection portion. Therefore, the compact, lightweight design can be achieved, and parts, such as a connector, are unnecessary, thus reducing the number of the component parts.

Light Fixture Assembly

A housing for a recessed light fixture for installation into a passenger compartment of a vehicle includes a composite trim assembly. The composite trim assembly includes a spacer and a trim member. The spacer operably engages the housing of the light fixture and the trim member is connected to the spacer. The spacer aligns the trim member with the housing such that the trim member does not contact the housing. Consequently, the trim member, which is exposed to the passenger compartment upon installation, maintains a lower temperature than the housing to which it is connected.

A lighting arrangement for the interior of an automotive vehicle in which the light source, such as an LED, is recessed into the interior structure of the vehicle and covered with a layer of fabric. The light source is invisible when not in use, but shines through the fabric / foam layer when illuminated, and can be associated with a light transmitting member, such as a light bar and a light pipe. Such lighting arrangements can be disposed within the headliner to direct light where desired and for different functions, such as a map light or for area lighting. The lighting arrangement can be mounted in non-traditional locations, such as on vertically oriented pillars, visors, door panels, seat backs, seat fronts, and console sides. The light source is preferably one or more LEDs associated with a light transmitting medium to direct the discharge of light as desired within the automotive interior.

Information presentation apparatus

An information presentation apparatus is provided. A light emission device and a HCU are mounted on a vehicle as the information presentation apparatus. The light emission device is arranged on an instrument panel, and displays at least one light emission spot in a linear light emission area arranged to extend in a width direction of the vehicle. The HCU acquires monitoring information including at least position information of the risk target detected by the peripheral monitoring device, and calculates a risk level of the risk target, detected in a traveling direction of the vehicle, based on the monitoring information. When detecting a plurality of the risk targets, the HCU selects one of the risk targets having a highest risk level as a highest risk target, and displays the light emission spot, indicative of a direction of the highest risk target, in the linear light emission area.

ActiveUS20070091614A1Impair impressionImpair qualityNon-electric lightingPoint-like light sourceFiberIn vehicle
The present invention relates to a plastic component having a visible part that is made in one single layer from a plastic molding compound and that comprises a transparent or translucent matrix, and having a light source that comprises one or more lamp elements, situated under the surface of the visible part. The visible part is implemented as essentially opaque in relation to daylight and transparent or translucent in relation to the light emitted by the lamp elements. The visible part also contains admixed effect pigments and defines a surface appearance image which, when the light source is inactive, essentially corresponds to the surface appearance image of the remaining wall of an object in which the plastic component is installed and which, when the light source is active, is essentially determined by the light source activity. The plastic component according to the invention is characterized in that the lamp elements are selected from a group which comprises light-emitting diodes, organic light-emitting diodes, and fiber-optic light systems, the lamp elements at least partially being embedded in the plastic molding compound of the visible part. The manifold uses of this plastic component comprise installation in vehicles, paneling elements, and furniture, as well as in housings of greatly varying devices.

Dual function console lamp with integrated switching

Dual function console lighting with integrated switching includes a lamp housing held by a retainer within a bezel secured to a vehicle interior. The lamp housing includes eccentrically positioned collinear pivot arms relative to a central longitudinal axis of a lamp positioned within the housing. The pivot arms engage the retainer to hold the lamp housing within the retainer while allowing the lamp housing to pivot relative to the plane of the retainer. The retainer is rotatably held within the bezel by a plurality of snap features spaced around its circumference, allowing the lamp housing and retainer to rotate. A latching mechanism holds the lamp housing in a retracted position with a lens of the housing preferably substantially flush relative to immediately surrounding portions of the bezel. A spring provides a force to pivot the housing about the pivot arms to a second position when the latch is released. An integrated switch is operated by movement of the housing between the first and second positions to turn the lamp on in the extended position. A second switch is provided to select manual or automatic operation of the lamp when in the retracted position. Automatic operation may be actuated by a remotely located auxiliary switch, such as a door switch, for example. The lamp housing preferably includes an integrated lens that includes a protrusion to facilitate rotation of the housing within the retainer. A dimple may also be providing in the lens to facilitate operation of the integrated switch.
