The method comprises the following steps of adding sepiolite into wastewater containing organic pollutants at the normal temperature, performing stirring to enable organic pollutant molecules to reach adsorption and desorption balance in an inner cavityand on the surface of the sepiolite, performing solid-liquid separation in a centrifugal or filtering manner to obtain organic matter adsorbed sepiolite, performing drying, then performing light source irradiation for enabling the sepiolite to generate Si-OH breakage under the action of a light source to generate hydroxyl radicals, further reacting the hydroxyl radicals with oxygen and the like inair to convert oxygen negative ion radicals and other active oxygen species, and then degrading the organic pollutants adsorbed to the inner cavity and the surface of the sepiolite, so that the effect of mineralizing or partially mineralizing the organic pollutants is achieved. The sepiolite added into an aqueous solution is good in stability, easy to recycle and recyclable. The method has the advantages of low cost, high treatment efficiency at the normal temperature, simplicity in operation and good industrial application value.
