The invention relates to the technical field of 
pavement maintenance equipment, in particular to an 
asphalt pavement maintenance method and a vehicle additionally-hung forward-pushing type road roller. The method comprises the following steps that S1, square plates are prefabricated through 
asphalt, specifically, excess materials obtained after 
asphalt pavement laying are pressed into the square plates with the rated size through a hydraulic 
machine and a mold; S2, square plate block storage; S3, pit slot and crack broken parts are cleaned; S4, spraying asphalt bonding oil; S5, preheating thesquare plate, namely heating the square plate to 60-70 DEG C by using a 
heating furnace; S6, pit slot crack treatment is conducted, specifically, the preheated square plate blocks are placed in a square slot, and stone particles are evenly scattered at the joints of the square plate blocks and the 
road surface and the joints of the square plate blocks; and S7, the square plates are compacted, andthe square plates are flattened through the road roller. The invention provides a new 
pavement maintenance method which can effectively utilize residual materials left after pavement repair and avoidswaste caused by stir-frying of excessive asphalt mixtures by equipment and saves resources, energy and money.
