Problems solved by technology

However, in this case, since the sidewall is subjected to significant bending deformation while the vehicle is running, the sidewall tends to develop cracks at the edge of the thick raised portion
Also, if the raised part is higher, the corners around the raised part tend to get dirty when in use

Embodiment Construction

[0031] In the drawings, a vehicle tire 1 according to the present invention is a pneumatic tire 1 including a tread portion, a pair of beads, and a pair of sidewalls 2 . The marking area 4 is distributed over at least one side wall 2 . like Figure 1a , 1b As shown in and 1c, the marking area 4 can be an annular area extending continuously around the tire axis ( Figure 1a ), a separate region ( Figure 1b ), such as a discontinuous or independent part of an arcuate area arranged annularly around the tire axle ( Figure 1c ).

[0032] The marking area 4 is a saw-tooth-shaped area in which at least one marking 5 is displayed by utilizing the discontinuity of the saw-tooth shape 3 . In the present invention, the discontinuous part of the zigzag shape 3 refers to the following three situations:

[0033] (1) Only refers to the discontinuous part of the zigzag groove 6;

[0034] (2) refers only to the discontinuity of the serrated ridges 7 formed between the serrated grooves 6...

Abstract

A tire comprises a sidewall provided with a mark region for displaying at least one mark including at least one of a sold mark and an outline mark, the mark region is provided with serration made up of serration slots and ridges which are drawn up in lines, the mark is formed by discontinuous parts of the serration, wherein the discontinuous parts of the serration are (1) discontinuous parts of serration slots only or (2) discontinuous parts of ridges only or (3) discontinuous parts of serration slots and discontinuous parts of ridges, wherein the discontinuous part of the serration slot is ashallow part formed within the serration slot and having a top face extending across a corresponding part of the mark in substantially parallel with a tire sidewall surface.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the following application: [0002] Filing date of original application: November 8, 2002 [0003] Application number of the original application: 021499683 [0004] Title of invention of the original application: Tires for vehicles technical field [0005] The present invention relates to a vehicle tire having a marking zone on the sidewall, and more particularly to a zone having a zigzag shape, the discontinuities of which constitute the marking. Background technique [0006] Generally speaking, there are many markings on the sidewall of a pneumatic tire. Here, the term "indicia" is used to refer to characters, monograms, patterns, etc., and the indicia may have various shapes without particular limitation. The present invention uses such markings to represent brand names, trade names, tire sizes, manufacturers, instructions, geometric patterns, and the like. Markings on the side walls include markings that require...
