The present invention relates to a universal computer product hardware configuration management control program setting method and a system; the invention can be applicable for integrating to computer products with various hardware configurations and is used to provide a universal management control program setting function for the computer products with different hardware configurations; the invention is characterized in that the various computer product specifications are respectively preassigned with a unique identifier which is set in SMBIOS(System Management BIOS); the usable system components such as various field replaceable unit (Field Replaceable Unit, FRU), SDR(Signal Data Rate) type memories and the corresponding table data of fan rotating speeds, management control programs and relevant configuration data which are needed in the initialization are pre-integrated into a management control program and a configuration data storage zone which a BMC(Baseboard Management Controller) belongs to. The method can automatically read the product identifier from SMBIOS after the computer products are started in order that the BMC (baseboard management controller) can automatically acquire the corresponding management control data to have an initialization program.
