Problems solved by technology

[0005] The challenge found is that existing techniques have artificial distinctions that create considerable redundancy
Additionally, existing technologies do not provide solutions for continuous applications
Another challenge identified is that each of the existing models has disadvantages compared to the others, and therefore it may not always be clear for the solution architecture to choose which system and model the design application will use
Additionally, many solutions cannot be implemented using existing models because of their shortcomings
As a result, solution architectures may require custom solutions that are expensive to develop and maintain
Also, custom solutions are often of lower quality because packaged software undergoes more rigorous testing

Embodiment Construction

[0033] The following content is intended to provide a detailed description of examples of the present invention, and should not be used to limit the present invention itself. Rather, any number of variations may fall within the scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

[0034] FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a user creating a data flow diagram based on a unified integration model. The user 100 provides input 110 to the integrated language engine 130, which uses the unified integrated model to generate a data flow diagram. In turn, the integrated language engine 130 compiles the data flow diagrams to create application code.

[0035] System 120 includes integrated language engine 130 , component repository 140 , dataflow diagram repository 150 , and code repository 160 . The integrated language engine 130 receives input 110 from the user 100 for creating a data flow diagram. A data flow diagram is a directed acyclic graph that includes components such as operato...

Abstract

A system and method for implementing a unified model for integration systems is presented. A user provides inputs to an integrated language engine for placing operator components and arc components onto a dataflow diagram. Operator components include data ports for expressing data flow, and also include meta-ports for expressing control flow. Arc components connect operator components together for data and control information to flow between the operator components. The dataflow diagram is a directed acyclic graph that expresses an application without including artificial boundaries during the application design process. Once the integrated language engine generates the dataflow diagram, the integrated language engine compiles the dataflow diagram to generated application code.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a system and method for implementing a unified model for an integrated system. More particularly, the present invention relates to a system and method for using a unified model to express applications in data flow diagrams without artificial boundaries, which in turn allows for greater application optimization. Background technique [0002] Applications in the integrated world are often differentiated by categories such as batch, transactional, and continuous. Batch Process Integration Applications (IA) are primarily used when a new integration solution replaces an old custom disparate application and existing data needs to be moved. Transactional IA mainly appears in the form of business process management (BPM), where various applications implement business processes by exchanging requests and responses to each other under the guarantee of transactions. Continuous IA is an emerging application in the field of decisi...
