Abstract

The invention provides a method and a system for testing performance of a WAP gateway. The system comprises a client terminal emulator connected with the WAP gateway for stimulating a mobile client terminal, emulating a WAP terminal and a wireless access network and implementing WAP1.2 and WAP2.0 protocols and the business flow based on the protocols; and a server emulator connected with the WAP gateway for stimulating a Web server and a data business platform and implementing an HTTP protocol and the business flow based on the protocol. The method includes the following steps that (1) the client emulator stimulates the WAP terminal and transmit a connection request to the WAP gateway; (2) the WAP gateway returns a response to the client emulator; (3) the client emulator judges the response; if the response is successful, the client emulator maintains connection with the WAP gateway and stimulates other WAP terminal, step (1) is repeated, and the subsequent steps are sequentially executed; otherwise, step (1) is executed; and (4) the client emulator acquires maximum concurrent connection number of the WAP gateway according to the number of successful response returned from the WAP gateway.
