The locomotive signal system automatically judges the uplink and downlink state decoded by locomotive signal through real-time collecting the information of carrier frequency of ground track circuits, which is corresponding to a locomotive running section and sent by the monitor and record device, and then locking and switching process is carried out according to the judged decoding carrier frequency of the uplink and downlink, thereby accurately decoding the locomotive signal and preventing the invasion of adjacent lines interference from influencing the decoding of the locomotive signal. The invention changes the selection of uplink and downlink of the locomotive signal from a traditional manual mode of 'people' controlling a 'machine' into an automatic mode of 'machine' controlling 'people'. The uplink and downlink automatic mode selection of the invention eliminates the work load of drivers generated from manual selection of the uplink and the down link in the traditional locomotive signal system, thereby avoiding serious consequences of train operation accidents resulting from mistaken on-lights of the locomotive signal caused by manually and mistakenly switching uplink and downlink switches.
