1523 results about "Signalling system" patented technology

Signalling Systems. Railway signalling is the system used on railways to direct rail traffic and to keep trains a safe distance apart from each other, as well as to ensure trains run according to schedule. Signalling ensures safe and smooth operation by separating trains, ensuring they have enough braking distance to stop,...

Method and apparatus for evaluating and calibrating a signaling system

A method and apparatus for evaluating and calibrating a signaling system is described. Evaluation is accomplished using the same circuits actually involved in normal operation of the signaling system. Capability for in-situ testing of a signaling system is provided, and information may be obtained from the actual perspective of a receive circuit in the system. A pattern of test information is generated in a transmit circuit of the system and is transmitted to a receive circuit. A similar pattern of information is generated in the receive circuit and used as a reference. The receive circuit compares the patterns. Any differences between the patterns are observable. Preferably, the patterns are repeating patterns that allow many iterations of testing to be performed. In one embodiment, a linear feedback shift register (LFSR) is implemented to produce patterns. Information obtained from testing may be used to assess the effects of various system parameters, including but not limited to output current, crosstalk cancellation coefficients, and self-equalization coefficients, and system parameters may be adjusted to optimize system performance. An embodiment of the invention may be practiced with various types of signaling systems, including those with single-ended signals and those with differential signals. An embodiment of the invention may be applied to systems communicating a single bit of information on a single conductor at a given time and to systems communicating multiple bits of information on a single conductor simultaneously.

Wireless traffic signal system and method thereof cooperated with vehicle tracks at intersections

The invention relates to the technical field of traffic control, in particular to a wireless traffic signal system and a method thereof cooperated with vehicle tracks at intersections. The invention adopts a special short-range communication mechanism. The system comprises intersection transmitting equipment, vehicle receiving equipment, a singlechip, voice output equipment, GPS (Global Position System) equipment and a vehicle display. The singlechip carries out data fusion processing on real-time traffic information and the longitude and the latitude of vehicles to obtain information of traffic signal lamps on the vehicle tracks and outputs the information to the vehicle display. The method comprises the step that the singlechip carries out data fusion on information of an electronic map, a real-time traffic lamp signal, vehicle track positioning and traveling direction and displays the traffic signal on the electronic map when the vehicles enter the communication range of a special short-range communication technology. The invention can ensure that the traffic signal is transmitted to the vehicles through the system under the condition that a driver cannot clearly see the front signal lamps and thereby the driver can clearly know about the current contents displayed by the traffic signal lamps by using a display or voice prompt system.

Signaling safety system

The present invention is a signaling system for a motorcycle or bicycle providing a light indication to other motorists. An indication mechanism is attached to a garment of the rider. The indication mechanism has at least two banks of LEDs arrays and a wireless radio receiver. A signal interface is linked to the wiring system of the motorcycle light system. The signal interface intercepts signals transmitted on the wiring system of the motorcycle light system. The system also includes a wireless radio transmitter in communication with the signal interface. When the signal interface detects a signal sent through the wiring system of the motorcycle, the signal interface sends a signal via the transmitter to the receiver of the indication mechanism. The indication mechanism then illuminates the appropriate bank of LED arrays to provide a light indication to warn other motorists. In an alternate embodiment of the present invention, the indication mechanism may be worn by a cyclist. The signal interface may communicate with a sensing device which receives signals from a braking mechanism of the bicycle. When the braking mechanism is actuated, the sensing device senses the braking action and sends a signal via the transmitter to the receiver of the indication mechanism, which in turn illuminates the LED arrays. Alternately, rather than utilizing a signal interface, the indication mechanism may include an accelerometer to detect deceleration of the bicycle.
