Problems solved by technology

However, if the rate of reading data from the storage medium is fast enough, and the data is ready every time the data is requested, then when a large amount of data is read / written, the CBW and CSW commands must be sent once each time the packet is sent, which costs a lot of time. If the time is too long, the data transfer rate of the entire USB system will slow down

Embodiment Construction

[0040] The presently preferred embodiments are discussed in detail below. It should be appreciated, however, that the present invention provides many applicable inventive concepts that can be embodied in a wide variety of specific specific contexts. The specific specific embodiments discussed are merely illustrative of specific ways to use the invention, and do not limit the scope of the invention.

[0041] When a host computer reads / writes a large amount of data stored in a USB storage device or a file with a large storage space, usually the device logical addresses corresponding to adjacent read and write requests are continuous most of the time. Aiming at this technical feature, the present invention provides a method for increasing the read / write data rate of the USB storage device.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method which can upgrade the reading and writing speed of a universal serial bus (USB) storage device. In a first embodiment, when a reading command with a larger storage capacity value to be read / written is received and the address of the reading command is continuous, then a data transmission procedure in which the CBW is not needed to be transmitted is implemented. In a second embodiment, a plurality of writing commands with continuous addresses are arranged in a storage buffer and are combined into a larger requiring command and transmitted to the USB storage device again, thereby the times for the CBW and CSW needed to be transmitted can be reduced during data transmission. In a third embodiment, when the reading command is received, more data is read in ahead and is stored in the buffer to lead a next reading command to be capable of reading data from the buffer, thus accelerating the speed to read the data.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for increasing the data read / write rate of a USB storage device, and in particular to reducing the number of command block packets (CBW) and command status packets (CSW) that need to be sent during data transmission To improve the data read and write speed method. Background technique [0002] Due to the increasing amount of data that today's computer systems have to deal with, the requirements for the transmission bandwidth of peripheral devices have also increased relatively. Although there are many bus architectures on the market, these architectures still have low transmission speed or low transmission speed when transmitting data. The disadvantage of high cost exists. Compared with traditional buses, USB has excellent characteristics such as hot plugging and high data transmission rate, and has been widely used in various computer systems. [0003] The above-mentioned USB defines the following four trans...
