Abstract

The invention discloses a method for processing an external service request in a storage local area network. The service request is responded in the storage local area network with a plurality of controllers. The method comprises the following steps: a first controller in the storage local area network receives the request packet of an external network; when the first controller judges that the request packet is required to be transmitted to a second controller for really providing service in an internal network, the request packet is transmitted to the second controller; the second controller receives the request packet, and resolves and records the source address of the request packet; the second controller executes an operating instruction corresponding to the request packet and generates a respond packet after executing the operating instruction; and the second controller directly transmits the respond packet to the original request initiating terminal through taking the source address as the destination address of the respond packet.
