Embodiment 1

[0079] 13.0 g of Epikote 828 in 16 g of ethyl acetate was charged into a 250 ml four-neck flask equipped with a KPG stirrer, nitrogen line and intensive condenser. The clear solution was heated to 75°C with stirring. 2.73 g of ethanolamine were added dropwise over 3 minutes. The originally clear solution became cloudy after 3 hours. After a total reaction time of 5 hours, 34.8 g of TDI-M 350 mono-adduct were added dropwise. After reacting at 80° C. for another 3 hours, the reaction product was diluted with DI water (deionized water). Ethyl acetate was removed on a rotary evaporator at 200 mbar and 60° C. for 2 hours. The product obtained was a clear light yellow solution with 40% solids.

Embodiment 7

[0105] 13.07 g of Grilonit F173 in 69.3 g of methoxypropyl acetate were charged into a 250 ml four-necked flask equipped with a KPG stirrer, nitrogen tube and intensive condenser. The clear solution was heated to 75°C with stirring. 1.93 g of benzylamine [molar ratio 15:16] was added dropwise over 3 minutes. After a total reaction time of 5 hours, 54.3 g of the TDI monoadduct of caprolactone polyester (C16CAPA) prepared starting from decyl alcohol were added dropwise. The product obtained was a clear light yellow solution with 50% solids.

Abstract

Addition compound which is suitable as wetting agent and dispersant and can be obtained by reaction of A) polyepoxides with B) at least one aliphatic and/or araliphatic primary amine of the general formula (I) H2N-R, where R = alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl and the primary amine can bear further functional groups selected from among -OH, tertiary amine or carboxyl, and subsequent addition C) of at least one modified isocyanate of the general formula (IIa) and/or (IIb), where R = alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, R and R are each, independently of one another, H, alkyl or aryl, X = alkylene, cycloalkylene and/or aralkylene, Y = alkylene and/or cycloalkylene and n and m are independent of one another and the sum n+m is >= 2, to form a urethane.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to wetting and dispersing agents for pigments and fillers produced by reaction of epoxides with amines and polyoxyalkylene-modified isocyanates and / or polyester-modified isocyanates and / or polyether-polyester-modified isocyanates The amine polymer and its salt and other products, the present invention also relates to the method for preparing said substance. The resulting polymer is a comb polymer. The invention also relates to the use of these reaction products as wetting and dispersing agents for organic and inorganic pigments and fillers in aqueous systems and systems with solvents. [0002] More particularly, the aforementioned reaction products are suitable for the preparation of pigment concentrates, and for the stabilization of solids in adhesives, coatings, plastics and polymeric mixtures. As wetting and dispersing additives, they reduce the viscosity of the above-mentioned systems, improve storage stability and flo...
