The detecting method has a following theory that the propagation velocity of the earthquake wave on the foundation piles is far greater than the propagation velocity on pile foundation, while the attenuation quotient is less than that of the pile foundation, when the detector is far from the bottom ends of the foundation piles, the propagation distance of the received earthquake wave in the soil is magnified, so as to necessarily extend the lag of the first arrival time and accelerate the attenuation of the amplitude, in a similar way, the positions of the defects of the foundation piles also has the same phenomenon that the first arrival time is suddenly extended and the amplitude is suddenly attenuated, therefore, by comprehensively analyzing the first arrival time and the amplitude of the earthquake wave, the length and the integrity of the foundation piles can be judged.
