Abstract

A socket which can protect both connection objects against damage when two connection objects are set in the socket, and an inspection device using that socket. A movable frame (3) is held movably on a base frame (2) by means of a coil spring (not shown). A lever (6) is fixed to a cover (4) rotatably about the axis (7) as a fulcrum, and urged to turn anticlockwise by means of a coil spring (8). Since the distal end (6a) of the lever (6) engages with the step portion (2a) of the base frame, the cover (4) is sustained in rotating state under engaged state. A device (26) is contained in the device containing groove of the movable frame, and the pressing portion (4a) of the cover brings the device into pressure contact with a connector (24) arranged in (the frame of) the base frame.
