Abstract

A method and apparatus for performing transmit power control (TPC) of a wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU) is disclosed. The receiver receives downlink control information (DCI). The DCI includes uplink scheduling information and TPC information. The processor determines the transmit power level for the physical uplink channel. The determined transmit power level is based on at least one path loss factor that is adjusted in response to the TPC information and the measured path loss. The transmitter then transmits information on the physical uplink channel based on the scheduling information and the determined transmit power level.
