Abstract

The invention discloses a backlight module and a liquid crystal display applying the same. The backlight module at least comprises a backboard, a light source arranged on the backboard, a glue frame which is arranged on the periphery of the backboard and positioned outside the light source, and at least one optical diaphragm arranged on the glue frame. The glue frame at least comprises a main body and at least one supporting part spliced with the main body, wherein the main body and the supporting part form a supporting surface and the supporting part allows light to be transmitted. The optical diaphragm is supported on the supporting surface. According to the invention, under the condition of not making the backlight module generate dark bands, the supporting surface of the optical diaphragm can be effectively enlarged to further stabilize and support the optical diaphragm.
