Abstract

The invention discloses a digital communication apparatus and decoding method, wherein the digital communication apparatus comprises a burst wrong detecting device, an internal decoder and an outer decoder, wherein the burst wrong detecting device determines burst noise location corresponding to the data stream based on error check equation, and generates burst wrong indicating symbol accordingly; the inner decoder decodes the data stream to generate inner decoding stream; the inner decoder comprises a mark eraser for performing mark erasing program to internal decoding stream based on the burst wrong indicating symbol, so as to generate an erase indicating symbol corresponding to the internal decoding stream; the outer decoder decodes the internal decoding stream corresponding to the erase indicating symbol to generate receiver output. The digital communication apparatus and the decoding method can enforce error correction capability of communication system.
