Abstract

The present invention relates to a position tracking system for tracking position of a ship block and a method thereof. The position tracking system of the invention is used for obtaining the image of ship block, the information of a piezoelectric sensor, position information of a transportation device and movement distance information. Furthermore the position information and width information of ship block are tracked according to a plurality of pieces of information, wherein, the information of the piezoelectric sensor is generated through applying pressure by the ship block loaded on the transportation device to the piezoelectric sensor. Therefore, the system of the invention can be combined with the cheap sensors such as an image sensor, a piezoelectric sensor, a GPS (global positioning system), a DMI (distance measurement integrator) for effective tracking the position of the ship block.
