In the method, a multi-media service gateway is used for acquiring end-to-end success ratio corresponding to each service provider interface from an accounting system, judging whether the end-to-end success ratio of the multi-media service gateway is smaller than a threshold value and limiting the transmission flow capacity of the SP interface under the situation that the end-to-end success ratio is smaller than the threshold value. According to the technical scheme, the invention solves the problem of unconspicuous effect of relieving the treatment pressure of a MMSC by adopting the chain control or flow capacity control scheme in the relevant technology and can further relieving the treatment pressure of the MMSC.
