Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses a method and a device for charging through a universal serial bus (USB) interface. The method comprises the following steps of: connecting a device to be charged with a power supply device through the USB interface; closing communication between a USB module and the power supply device; and charging the device to be charged by the power supply device through a power line on the USB interface. In the technical scheme of the invention, the communication between the USB module and the power supply device is stopped and the device to be charged is charged through the USB interface. In the method, the communication work of the USB module is stopped, so the USB module does not need to be always under a working condition when the device is charged through the USB interface; and the CPU of the device to be charged can stop working to make all current used for charging so as to improve the charging efficiency.
