Abstract

The invention relates to a frequency planning method and a system for a cellular communication system for fixed relays. A frequency planning unit (FPU) is introduced and two frequency planning methods are provided when the FPU is 1 and 7; and different frequency subsets are allocated to base stations and relay nodes in cells according to the set frequency planning scheme. Through ingenious and flexible frequency planning design, interference among the cells of a user can be effectively reduced. The frequency subsets of three sectors of each relay node in the system are the same, so that the complexity of the relay node is reduced; and fixed relay nodes are arranged on the top of a hexagonal cell, directed transmission is realized by using a directional antenna, and three cells share the same relay node, so that interference sources and interference strength among the cells are reduced, association among the cells is enhanced and convenience is brought to switching among the cells by the user. The method and the system have the advantages of providing better services for cell edge users, effectively improving the service quality of the cell edge users, and bringing convenience to signaling interaction and user access among the cells.
