Abstract

The invention provides a channel state information feedback method and user equipment (UE), and the method comprises the following steps: leading the UE to determine a first class pre-coding matrix index or the first class pre-coding matrix index and a second class matrix index according to indication information, wherein the first class pre-coding matrix index is used for indicating an index of a first class pre-coding matrix in a configured set of first class pre-coding codes, and the second class matrix index is used for indicating the index of a second class matrix in the configured set of second class codes; leading the UE to calculate channel quality information (CQI) according to the determined first class pre-coding matrix index; and leading the UE to send the calculated CQI to the base station or leading the calculated CQI and the determined first class pre-coding matrix index and/or the second class matrix index to the base station, wherein the first class pre-coding matrix is used for mapping channel information of a broad band and/or a long-term channel, and the second class matrix is used for mapping the channel information of a sub-band and/or a short-term channel.
