The main link restoration control method comprises the following steps of: initiating a first notification message which indicates that a main link fails by an upstream switch of the failed main link, and transmitting the first notification message among switches connected by all normal links; if the first notification message can be transmitted to a main switch, sending a second notification message which indicates that a domain identity (ID) needs to be requested again to all switches by the main switch; if the second notification message can be received by a downstream switch of the failed main link, recording a link in which a port receiving the second notification message is positioned as a new upstream main link, and requesting the domain ID to the main switch sequentially with switches connected with other all normal links again, so that the main link in the switch system is restored; therefore, reconfiguration is not needed to be initiated by the switch system in which the main switch is positioned, the phenomenon that data cannot be transmitted by the switch system in a long period of time required by the reconfiguration is avoided, and the reliability of the switch system is improved.
