The method comprises the following steps of: 1) collecting historical information; 2) analyzing the type of a historical traffic event and traffic influence parameters; 3) extracting and classifying keywords in the historical traffic event; 4) acquiring statistic probabilities between the keyword in the historical traffic event and the event type and between the keyword in the historical traffic event and the traffic influence parameters; 5) automatically identifying the traffic event according to test data of the historical traffic event; 6) determining confidence coefficients of the probabilities for the type and the traffic influence parameters of the traffic event with each keyword; and 7) identifying a sudden traffic event in real time by using a matching statistic probability between the keyword and the traffic influence parameters and a confidence coefficient list.
