Abstract

The invention discloses application of morning glory to enrichment of heavy metals in household refuse compost. The roots, stems and the leaves of the morning glory are utilized to enrich the heavy metals including Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Cr and Cd6 in the compost. The results show that the enrichment and the distribution of different heavy metals are different in the morning glory, the content of the six heavy metals in the morning glory is as follows: Zn>Pb>Cu>Cr>Ni>Cd, and the heavy metals are absorbed by the roots of the morning glory and mainly concentrated in the stems and the leaves of the morning glory. The heavy metals in the morning glory have strong capacity of transferring to the overground part of the morning glory, and the heavy metals in the compost can be better extracted.
