Abstract

The invention discloses a scan mode switching method which comprises the following steps: utilizing scan light source of a scanner to scan scanning space of a manuscript to be scanned to obtain a scanning space image; according to the scanning space image, determining whether the scanning space exists a transmission draft holder or not; if so, switching a scan mode or keeping the scan mode as a transmission manuscript scanning mode; if not, switching the scan mode or maintaining a reflection manuscript scan mode. The invention also discloses a scan mode switching system. By employing the method and the system disclosed in the invention, a hardware structure detecting the transmission manuscript holder in the prior art is omitted, a structure of a scanner is simplified, production cost of the scanner is reduced, simultaneously scan modes of the scanner can be switched accurately.
