Example Embodiment

[0032] In order to make the object, technical solution and advantages of the present invention clearer, the implementation manner of the present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0033] The technical solutions provided by the embodiments of the present invention are applicable to figure 1 As shown in the network architecture, the network architecture includes: one or more IP edge node groups, load balancers, and access nodes.

[0034] Wherein, the IP edge node group is also called a virtual IP edge node. Each IP edge node group serves users in a specific area. Each IP edge node group is composed of at least one IP edge node, and the number of IP edge nodes in the IP edge node group can be dynamically adjusted. Each IP edge node group has its own address, that is, IP address and MAC address. Each IP edge node uses the IP address and MAC address of the IP edge node group to which it belongs when communicating e...

Abstract

A communications method and a load balancer are provided by the embodiments of the present invention, which relate to the communications field. The communications method comprises: receiving messages from a user device; selecting an Internet Protocol (IP) edge node from an IP edge node group serving for the region to which the user device belongs, wherein, the IP edge node in the IP edge node group is adjusted dynamically according to the load of the IP edge node group, and the adjusting enables the bandwidth provided by the IP edge node group to satisfy the bandwidth requirement of the region to which the user device belongs; forwarding the messages to the selected IP edge node. The load balancer comprises a receiver, selecting module and sender. By the above-mentioned solution, the present invention reduces the bandwidth requirement for the IP edge node and improves the utilization of the IP edge node.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the communication field, in particular to a communication method and a load balancer. Background technique [0002] The access network is composed of an access node (Access Node), an IP (Internet Protocol, Internet Protocol) edge node (Edge Node), and an aggregation network (Aggregation Network) between them. [0003] Existing IP edge nodes occupy a high position in the network architecture. Centralized deployment of IP edge nodes will cause performance bottlenecks. Decentralized deployment of IP edge nodes can save MAN bandwidth. When IP edge nodes are distributed, each IP edge node serves a specific area, and users in a specific area communicate through the corresponding IP edge node. For example, IP edge node 1 serves a residential area, and IP edge node 2 serves a commercial area. During the day, when people go to work in the commercial area, the IP edge node 2 has a high load and consumes a lot of energy. In the resident...
