Problems solved by technology

This involves the problem that even if the operator moves only a small amount or moves up from the seat, the seat contact switch opens, thereby stopping the operation of the road finisher
However, this has the disadvantage that several mechanical springs must be used which are particularly prone to wear

[0030] figure 1 An operator is shown sitting in a driver's seat 2 in front of a control panel 1 in a construction machine. Different control functions are provided on the control panel 1 . figure 1 Also shown is a presence detection system 3 comprising a sensor 4 integrated in the control panel 1 . The straight line from the control panel 1 towards the operator represents the measurements made by the sensor 4 . The purpose of this measurement is to check whether the operator is sitting on the driver's seat 2 . figure 1 Also shown is the start value 5 measured by the sensor 4 . A start value of 5 marks the distance between the sensor 4 and the operator. The starting value of 5 varies depending on the operator's height or waist circumference. in addition, figure 1 The allowable range 6 is shown. The tolerance range 6 positions itself by the start value 5 and extends uniformly from the start value 5 in the positive or negative direction (ie the direction viewed from the st...

Abstract

A building machine, especially a road finishing machine, comprising a presence detection system (3). The presence detection system (3) comprises a sensor (4) which is integrated in the control panel (1) of the building machine. By means of the sensor a distance measurement can be carried out, which determines whether the operator is properly seated on the driver's seat (2) of the building machine or whether he stands properly at the standing work place. In order to determine the presence a tolerance range (6) may be specified, which allows a slight movement of the operator on the driver's seat(2). If the operator approaches the limits of the tolerance range (6)he is asked in time by warning signals to be seated again properly on the driver's seat(2) or adopt a proper position at the standing work place. If the sensor (4)detects no operator on the driver's seat (2)or at the standing work place all of the functions of the building machine are stopped in order to make sure that the work site is safe.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a construction machine according to the preamble of claim 1 and a presence checking method according to claim 14 . Background technique [0002] In practice, it is stipulated that the operator of the machine has a high degree of construction safety. This ensures that the operator is not at risk of being injured or is promptly alerted to impending danger. [0003] Likewise, the machine must be signaled in a timely manner if the operator is no longer able to move or operate the machine correctly. If this is the case, a warning signal is sent to the operator in order to draw his attention to the possible danger. [0004] One safety device used in rail vehicles is the dead man's button, which the driver of the traction vehicle must press at certain intervals to signal to the system that the driver is still conscious. If the button is not pressed, the system issues a visual or audible alarm. If this warning is ignored by the veh...
