Abstract

The invention discloses a policy control method and system for realizing BBF (Broadband Forum) access. The policy control method comprises the steps of: setting an FMC PF (Fixed Mobile Coverage Policy Function) in a mobile network where a user requests to access currently; after the FMC PF receives a triggering message from an ePDG (Evolved Packet Data Gateway), requesting for establishing a policy control session to a BPCF (Broadband Policy Control Framework); and performing reception control by the BPCF according to a QoS (Quality of Service) message sent from the FMC PF through the policy control session. It can be seen from the implementation of the method disclosed by the invention that when the UE accesses to 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) through the BBF, the FMC PF senses the triggering message from the ePDG so that a request of policy session initiated from a PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) of the 3GPP access network where the UE accesses currently to a BPCF (Broadband Policy Control Framework) is triggered. Thus, in case that a BBF access network fails in sensing the access of the UE or does not support 3GPP-based access authentication in the current architecture where the UE accesses into the 3GPP core network through the BBF access network, the QoS control on the UE access is realized, and consequently, QoS assurance is provided for the whole transmission path of the data.
