Abstract

The compass (1) has articulated legs (3, 4) provided at a compass head, where the legs are rotated with respect to a longitudinal axis of the compass. An adjustment spindle (5) is attached at one of the legs, and comprises two opposite directed threaded bushes. The legs are rotated about 90 degrees, and have square cross sections or rectangular cross sections. The legs have two pairs of opposite side surfaces, where the first pair of side surfaces has width smaller than that of the second pair of side surfaces. One of the legs is made of metal, and other leg is made of plastic.
