Abstract

The present invention provides a detection method and user equipment for an LTE-A system under multi-carrier aggregation. The UE receives the uplink or downlink grant transmitted by the eNB on the main carrier of the multi-carrier LTE-A system. The UE decides to indicate the carrier and detect the trigger condition for the aperiodic sounding transmission in the grant. The UE then selects UE-specific SRS parameters. Finally, the UE transmits aperiodic SRS on the indicated carrier using the selected UE-specific SRS parameters. In one embodiment, the uplink or downlink grant is transmitted via PDCCH carrying various downlink control formats. Each DCI format contains a CIF indicating which carrier is used for aperiodic SRS transmission if intercarrier arrangement is enabled. In another embodiment, DCI format 3 / 3A is transmitted via PDCCH carrying multiple information fields, each field indicating whether the UE should enable aperiodic SRS in a specific carrier.
