Abstract

The present invention discloses a switching circuit, a system and a method form balancing battery cells. The method for balancing multiple battery cells which are grouped into multiple battery modules includes: obtaining cell parameters of the battery cells, respectively; calculating an average cell parameter for each of the battery modules according to the cell parameters; identifying a donator module and a receiver module from the battery modules based upon the average cell parameter; and transferring energy from the donator module to the receiver module to balance the battery cells. A circuit for balancing battery cells in the present invention uses a converter to transfer energy from the donator module to the receiver module, thus the system for balancing battery cells in the utility model can be suitable for a charging process, a discharging process and an idle state of the battery, and can raise balancing efficiency and reduce complexity of the system.
