Abstract

An electrical connector is disclosed that includes a dielectric lead frame housing and a pair of differential signal electrical contacts extending through the lead frame housing. The lead frame housing defines an air pocket adjacent to the pair of electrical contacts. The air pocket may be predetermined in size to provide no more than a predetermined amount of signal skew between the pair of electrical contacts. The air pocket can be pre-sized to achieve a pre-defined connector impedance.
