Embodiment Construction
[0020] The following embodiments of the present invention for air staged gas diffusion nozzles for gas turbine combustors have many advantages including enhanced mixing of gaseous fuel and air, thereby reducing gas turbine emissions and also reducing soot formation during start-up. The air staging diffuser nozzle will also draw air from the main air flow path and introduce a swirling air stream at the center of the nozzle tip. Especially with highly reactive fuels, elevated temperatures are observed on the nozzle tip due to the close proximity to the flame. Air introduced into this bypass will cool the nozzle tip so that a film of cool air is formed between the surface of the nozzle tip and the hot gas in the downstream burner tube. The air flow exiting the nozzle tip and the swirling motion imparted to the air flow acts to enhance the mixing of the gaseous fuel with the air. Inventive arrangement for dry low NO with multiple diffusion nozzles X (DLN) burners are desirable a...
