Abstract

Disclosed is a fault diagnosis device for a vehicle capable of rapidly and easily identifying causes of failures (faults) regardless of experience or skill of a repairer even if fault codes of the failures are not recorded. The fault diagnosis device includes a display means, and communicates with an electronic control unit of the vehicle so as to diagnose failures of the vehicle. The fault diagnosis device comprises a selecting means for selecting measurement parameters; a setting means for setting triggering conditions used for measuring the measurement parameters; a failure-by-failure setting means that displays a group of failure conditions of the vehicle on the display means such that a set of measurement parameters corresponding to a failure condition selected from the group of the failure conditions and a triggering condition used for measuring the set of the measurement parameters can be set in a collective manner; and a measurement result processing means that displays the measurement results of the measurement parameters on the display means such that the measurement results can be compared.
