Abstract

The invention discloses an SPS receiver with adjustable linearity. A Satellite Positioning System (SPS) receiver that provides good performance at low power consumption is described. An SPS receiver can operate in one of several modes, which can be associated with different bias current settings for the SPS receiver. One of these modes may be selected based on the output power level of the co-located transmitter with the SPS receiver. The bias current for the LNA, mixer, and / or LO generator within the SPS receiver can be set based on the selected mode. In one design, a first (eg, low power) mode may be selected for the SPS receiver if the transmitter output power level is below the switch point. A second (eg, high linearity) mode may be selected if the transmitter output power level is above the switch point. The second mode is associated with a larger bias current for the SPS receiver than the first mode.
