The method comprises steps: extracting connection configuration information of an IED (intelligent electronic device) virtual terminal from an SCD (substation configuration description) file; using the connection configuration information of an IED virtual terminal to generate an identifier, the identifier uniquely identifying virtual terminal configuration information of the present IED; and using the identifier to verify the connection configuration of the IED virtual terminal. The invention also provides a device for verifying connection configuration of the transformer substation virtual terminal. The device can improve design of an intelligentized transformer substation and efficiency of operating maintenance, reduce operation management error risk of a digitalized transformer substation, and ensure safety operation of an electric power system.
