Abstract

The described methods and systems, and system components, are suitable for transcutaneous delivery or retrieval of e.g. filtered vascular implant devices. Implants deliverable through such systems as vena cava or other vascular filters can have two or more echogenic markers spaced apart such that they can be separately identified by IVUS and / or external ultrasound imaging.

Description

[0001] References to related applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 61 / 360,459, filed June 30, 2010, and U.S. Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 61 / 406,418, filed October 25, 2010, each titled Medical Devices percutaneous ultrasound-guided introduction, and each is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The invention generally relates to medical devices and systems for their introduction. In particular aspects, the present invention relates to methods and systems for ultrasound-guided percutaneous introduction of vascular devices, such as vascular filters, and to delivery components and implant features suitable for use therein. Background technique [0004] Vascular devices are typically introduced percutaneously under fluorescence guidance. For example, a vena cava filter is most commonly placed under fluoroscopic guidance with an injected contrast agent to pro...
