Abstract

An embodiment of the invention discloses an adaptive background updating video compression and transmission method. The method includes the steps: acquiring background frame images through an inter-frame difference algorithm and repeatedly acquiring new background frame images every N frames; performing difference calculation for the new background frame images and the background frame images, updating the background frame images by the aid of the new background frame images when a result is larger than a set threshold value, performing differential operation for a current video frame image and the background frame images, acquiring a foreground frame image comprising moving objects of the current frame image and transmitting the foreground frame image to a video terminal; and overlapping the background frame images and the foreground frame image by the video terminal to reconstruct an original video. The embodiment of the invention further discloses an adaptive background updating video compression and transmission system. By the aid of the method, coordinate parameters of the moving objects are omitted when the images are composited, the background frame images and the foreground frame image are directly and adaptively overlapped and reconstructed, information redundancy cannot be increased, and transmission bandwidth resources are saved.
