Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a terminal positioning method and terminal positioning equipment, relates to the field of communication, and aims to reduce resource demand on software and hardware in the terminal positioning process. The terminal positioning method comprises the following steps: segmenting a local sequence corresponding to a subframe of a positioning reference signal (PRS) by a terminal to obtain a segmented local sequence, wherein a starting orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and a finishing OFDM symbol of each segment of the segmented local sequence contain the PRS and the segments of the segmented local sequence are separated by OFDMs which do not contain the PRS; respectively obtaining sub-correlation values of the segmented local sequence and a corresponding received signal in a search window; superposing the sub-correlation values to obtain a correlation value of the local sequence and the corresponding received signal; according to the correlation value, obtaining a reference signal time difference (RSTD), and sending the RSTD to network side equipment so as to position the terminal by the network side equipment according to the RSTD.
