Abstract

The invention provides a strip type transverse quadrupole component exciter which can excite transverse quadrupole oscillation of an electron beam group in an electron accelerator storage ring, and study effects of the beam group transverse quadrupole oscillation on a beam performance, such as a beam current intensity and an operating point. The exciter consists of the following parts: four electrodes, eight HN electrode probe assemblies, a pipe, a left transition block, a right transition block, a shoulder ring, a flange welded inside the exciter, a loose sleeve, and the like. All the parts are welded. Two horizontal electrodes of the four electrodes are shaped like a letter "C", and two vertical electrodes are the plate electrodes. In the invention, a high frequency voltage is directly used to excite the beam group transverse quadrupole oscillation; compared with a method of adding an alternating current of a high frequency variation in a high frequency quadrupole magnet HFQM coil, the use method of the invention is simple and optimizing a design procedure is simple; a characteristic impedance matching is achieved simply through the use of Possion software and a least square method which are used for the optimization; and the strip type transverse quadrupole component exciter is simple in production, while the high frequency quadrupole magnet HFQM needs processing coils.
