Abstract

When starting the EPON home gateway, a data structure for storing a trans-vlan multicast vlan id and a wan connecting vlan id is initiated first in a driving layer. After an application layer is started, the trans-vlan multicast vlan id and the wan connecting vlan id are transmitted to the driving layer and saved in the initiated data structure of the driving layer. After a multicast data message containing the trans-vlan multicast vlan id reaches to a wan side of the EPON home gateway, the trans-vlan multicast vlan id in the multicast data message is replaced with the wan connecting vlan id in the driving layer and then the multicast data message reaches to a terminal device on a lan side of the EPON home gateway after processing. Therefore, playing of multicast programs is completed. Loop problems caused by creating virtual devices for the wan connecting vlan id and the trans-vlan multicast vlan id respectively and adding the virtual devices to a bridge device can be solved effectively. The beneficial effects of the implement method provided by the invention is that the whole process can be realized simply and the method can be applied easily; and other services of the EPON home gateway are not influenced and stability of the EPON home gateway performance is guaranteed.
