Provided are an integrated system and method for automatically regulating luminance after an LED display screen gets out of control. The system comprises a set of LED display units, a control computer and a set of wireless communication instruments; the control computer sends control and configuration commands to all the LED display units in a periodic mode; the control computer is in real-time wireless communicated with the LED display units through the communication instruments; LED display screen safety luminance automatic regulation software modules are embedded into all the LED display units, and by monitoring the operation state of a signal automatic identification control system from the control computer, a safety luminance regulation mode or a normal work mode is started correspondingly. The LED display units analyze control signals, and when the control signals are normal, the LED display units are driven to work and receive various types of configuration and control; when the control signals are abnormal, the LED display units enter the self safety protection state, and actively regulate the self luminance and the work state, therefore, traffic accidents and light pollution caused by high luminance when the LED display screen gets out of control can be effectively avoided, and other relative problems are resolved.
