Abstract

The invention provides a method and system for confirming faults of an IP bearer network. Services between first equipment and second equipment are borne through the IP bearer network, the first equipment is connected into the IP bearer network through third equipment in the IP bearer network, and the second equipment is connected into the IP bearer network through fourth equipment in the IP bearer network. The method comprises the steps that the first equipment detects the quality of the services between the first equipment and the second equipment to confirm whether abnormal situations occur to the quality of the services between the first equipment and the second equipment. If the quality of the services between the first equipment and the second equipment is abnormal, the first equipment sends request messages to the third equipment, and receives the response messages sent by the third equipment, wherein the response messages carry the 5-tuple flow of the services and the quality parameter values of the services in IP bearer network.
