Problems solved by technology

While there is some variability in the design of data center elements, this variability is limited by the space within the ISO container and the need to integrate each design element into the container
In other words, since the design of the entire data center and each data center component is limited by the space of the ISO container, the existing container data center can be configured with a narrow range of requirements
Additionally, changing any data center element or adding additional equipment is difficult and costly since containerized data centers may have to be redesigned to accommodate these changes

Abstract

In accordance with the present disclosure, systems and methods for designing a configurable modular data center are presented. A configurable modular data center designed in accordance with the present invention may include multiple modules. Each module is dedicated to one of the main elements of the data center, such as for fluid handling, computing and powering. Each of the plurality of modules is individually configurable, at least in part, according to operational and environmental requirements suitable for the modular data center. A plurality of modules can then be incorporated into at least one modular data center structure, the size and shape of which will depend at least in part on the configuration of each of the plurality of modules.
