As used herein, the term Diameter refers to the Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) protocol defined by RFC3588 utilized by telecommunications and computer networks. In one embodiment, the subject matter may include a Diameter Signaling Routing (DSR) that receives Diameter signaling messages related to a particular mobile subscriber. Received Diameter signaling messages may also require processing from certain types of network service nodes such as network charging function nodes (eg, Charging Data Function (CDF), Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF), etc.). Upon receiving a Diameter signaling message, a DSR node may be configured to query a Diameter Binding Repository (DBR) to determine a preferred network service node to process the received Diameter signaling message.
